It has been an aggregate 166 years since Aberdeen, Hearts or Hibs won Scotland’s top league.
The current consensus is that it would require a miracle for any one of the three to win the Scottish Premiership.
However, tiny cracks are now beginning to show in the Glasgow duopoly. Rangers look weaker than last season and Celtics new recruits do not appear to be of a uniformly high standard.
So there may be a small window of opportunity for another club to win the Premiership.
This does not, of course, excuse the Dithering Directors of the Also Rans from taking action to end the duopoly off the pitch. On balance, that is where there is the best chance of a challenge to Celtic and Rangers being successful.
Time for Change.
