Hibs heading for “One of Clubs Greatest Ever Seasons”, according to the Scotsman…

The headline writers at the Scotsman have clearly completely lost their marbles.
Hibs were eliminated from the 2020 Scottish Cup by a Championship side.
Despite the Old Firm being removed from the League Cup by other clubs, Hibs couldn’t carry the label of “favourites” beyond the next round.
In the league, Hibs are 33 points behind Rangers, which would leave them, on average, 13th in any other European league.
Hibs haven’t won the top league in Scotland for 69 years.
Hibs play attractive enough football by Scottish standards and may be best of the “also rans” in a season when Aberdeen have been pitiful – but this is a very average Hibs side in a very poor league.
The Hibs manager is doing the best he can but he knows he has no hope of even beginning to compete with Celtic and Rangers with the current league structure and financial arrangements.
Instead of the Scotsman keeping the pretence going that something significant is happening at Easter Road – or at any other ground outside Glasgow – this newspaper and the Glasgow Herald should join together to campaign for fundamental changes in Scottish football.
The current situation is truly hopeless.
Time for Change.
