Football is a sport.
Sometimes you simply have to applaud excellent performances from teams that on the domestic stage you want to see your team demolish.
Rangers were superb against PSV last night.
They played fine football, with an intensity and commitment their opponents just couldn’t match.
It was a thoroughly deserved victory.
So Scotland has two teams in the group stage of the Champions League for the first time.
A very strong position.
Hearts can make the group stage of the Europa League by beating Zurich tonight.
Let’s hope 18,000 Hearts supporters in a packed Tynecastle can help get the team over the line against the Swiss champions.
It would be a very proud moment for Hearts.
During October, Hearts welcome both Rangers and Celtic to Gorgie.
Every Hearts supporter will be looking to see their club achieve a brilliant double against the Glasgow clubs.
But for now, let’s simply celebrate a great time in Europe for Scottish football – and three Scottish clubs looking to compete at the highest level with some of the biggest club sides on the planet.
Take a bow, Scotland and the SPFL!
