18,000 Hearts supporters – including myself – found Saturday a tough watch.
The team simply couldn’t get going in the first half, against an excellent Ross County.
There was just a hint of booing at half time but it died as soon as it started. I think everyone realised they would have to get behind the team on a day when all that mattered was those precious first 3 points.
And so it transpired. Hearts started the second half on the front foot, threatened to score and then did score two excellent goals.
Ross County notched up a deserved consolation goal – but the points were won.
Hearts badly missed Stephen Kingsley – but the eleven who started know that can be no excuse.
They need to be better – and, of course, they will.
Hearts simply must stay in touch with Celtic and Rangers for as long as possible.
Already, on the first weekend of the Premiership season, BBC, Sky Sports and the newspaper media were calling it a two-horse race.
A two-horse race with 37 matches to go?
That cannot be allowed to be true!
Time for Change.
