37 seasons of two club domination has left Scottish football in desperate need of a lifeline.

That lifeline can be Hearts.

Though outgunned financially by Celtic and Rangers, the supporter ownership structure at Hearts, wed to commercial and footballing acumen, should be able to end the duopoly.

Make no mistake.

It is a HUGE ask.

And it will take time.

Robbie Neilson has described “a five year project”, a five year period that started last season.

Let me be very clear.

I would applaud ANY club wresting the Premiership crown away from Glasgow.

However, at the moment, Hearts look like the only realistic hope of knocking Celtic and Rangers off their perches.
