Now Celtic and Rangers will want to dominate women’s football. They MUST be stopped by the Scottish Government. #ScottishFootball #NicolaSturgeon

I have said before that the duopoly which effectively controls Scottish football – Celtic and Rangers – is probably illegal.

Now that same duopoly will try to exercise identical control over the women’s game.

I have drawn this duopoly acting against the Public Interest to the attention of Nicola Sturgeon. As the MSP for Govan, she must in any case be acutely aware already of what is happening.

So far Ms Sturgeon has failed to act, perhaps reluctant to get involved when the Glasgow giants have so much influence.

The First Minister will need to change her approach.

If 37 seasons of domination of the Scottish Premiership by two names reaches 40, the ending of the duopoly must be pursued off the pitch. In the courts of law, if necessary.

In the event of legal action, all those who have stood idly by watching the duopoly operate will be fully exposed to public criticism.

I doubt they will enjoy their fate.
