Celtic and Rangers are running a little scared of Hearts.
They can see the challenge emerging from Tynecastle and fear the threat to the Old Form duopoly which has strangled competition in Scottish football for four decades.
How many players have Celtic and Rangers loaned Hearts since they Foundation of Hearts miraculously rescued their club from administration?
NONE.
Luckily, thanks to the strength of the FoH and the associated resurgence in general support for Hearts, the club will continue to improve.
Next season, there will be a huge challenge from Hearts in the Premiership, a massive effort to end 38 seasons of only two clubs winning the league crown.
Meantime, Hearts and others will continue to push for the changes needed in the sharing of funding and structure of the Premiership. Those changes will be targeted at making a challenge to to the Old Firm easier for as many of the current Also Rans as possible.
The games up for Celtic and Rangers and their awful duopoly.
Their stranglehold will be broken, whatever it takes, on and off the pitch.
