Hibs should not overplay Rangers opportunity. #SPFL #ScottishFootball #Hibs #Hearts #Celtic #Rangers

It’s understandable that Hibs manager Jack Ross is in high spirits going to Ibrox.

Hibs remain unbeaten and may well be able to mount a challenge at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

However, it is wrong for Hibs – or Hearts, who are also unbeaten – to lay too much store on getting results at Ibrox or Parkhead.

The reality is that such matches do not need to yield points for Hibs and Hearts to have a chance of winning the league.

Both Edinburgh clubs should regard away matches against the Glasgow giants as “free shots” – meaning that anything won in terms of points is a bonus.

On the other hand, Hibs and Hearts MUST win home matches against the Old Firm if they are to be competitive at the pinnacle of the league.

They must also beat the other Also Rans at least as often as Celtic and Rangers manage to achieve.

One thing is absolutely certain – the top of the Premiership is more interesting than it has been for years.

Let’s hope that lasts until next May!

Time for Change.
