When Robbie Neilson was in the process of leaving Hearts to join MK Dons, I asked the Foundation to intervene, to attempt to persuade Robbie to stay.
I KNEW his departure would be a disaster for the club – and so it proved.
At the time, I was informed by the Foundation that some Pledgers didn’t like Robbie, so the FoH couldn’t come out publicly and call for him to stay.
For my part, I will NEVER tolerate the negatives. I have NEVER engage in booing Hearts and often argued with those around me who have shown this negativity.
Robbie N is a WINNER and can guide Hearts to success. He and his players deserve support, through thick and thin.
They must get that from the Foundation, whatever the small group of negative Pledgers find to complain about – and they will ALWAYS find something!
Another crucial role of the Foundation is to work with the full Hearts Board to push for change in Scottish football.
It is unlikely the Glasgow duopoly, which has been strangling the life out of the Premiership for four decades, can be broken on the pitch. Action is needed off the pitch – and the Foundation can help kick-start that action.
NOW. IN 2021.
Time for Change.
