The Also Rans in Scotland mostly cannot afford to buy good players.
They simply don’t have the money.
However, the EPL clubs have excellent players who are either surplus to requirements or being developed to become future first team regulars.
Hearts have signed one excellent player from Everton and done loan deals for two more who are on the fringes of EPL stardom – and could well still make it.
This is the route to providing some kind of challenge to the Old Firm.
The chances Hearts have of winning the league are increasing. I would have said two weeks ago they were 1000/1. Now, it’s more like 250/1. Win their next four league games and it will be down to 50/1.
Don’t misunderstand. It would be a miracle – but ALL the Also Rans need to work towards such a miracle on the pitch.
Meantime, the Dithering Directors of the Also Rans must address the Old Firm duopoly off the pitch.
