Hearts go to Parkhead today on a mission – and not just for themselves.
Celtic and Rangers need to have their stranglehold on the league ended – and that requires derailing their winning runs as often as possible, in every competition.
Hearts defeated Celtic three weeks ago, disrupting the start to a league campaign for the first time in over 20 years.
Inflicting a further defeat on Celtic today would remove them from anther tournament – and undermine the Ange P project.
Two defeats in row against Hearts would leave Celtic season in tatters.
Of course, it won’t be easy. Celtic are favourites – but Hearts, at their best, can inflict damage today.
Similar damage needs to be inflicted on Rangers.
For the sake of Scottish football, defeating the Old Firm must become more like the norm – “Business As Usual”!
At least until the Dithering Directors of the Also Rans sort out the Old Firm off the pitch.
Time for Change.
