Celtic haven’t actually bought a single player yet likely to move them up one place in the league.
2nd is, of course, a shoe-in. They basically just have to get 11 players to pull on a jersey every week to finish in that position.
But 1st requires them to do better than Rangers, which looks unlikely based on last seasons results between the clubs.
Of course, the Rangers manager could get run over by a bus – or seduced by a big club from down South – but failing those eventualities, the manager who recently nipped over from Japan is likely to face ignominious failure.
Or put it another way, face finishing 2nd behind Rangers.
