It is marvellous that Craig Gordon has set a new Hearts shutout record – but the record had only stood since 2017.
The much more worrying record that needs to be broken is the one of 62 years of dismal failure since Hearts last won Scotlands top league.
Of course, Hibs record is even more pathetic – the Easter Road club haven’t won the league for 70 years – but this is no consolation.
Two of the three most prominent Also Rans in Scotland haven’t managed to win the league for an aggregate 132 years.
The other member of the “Big 3” Also Rans – Aberdeen – last won the league 36 years ago.
Are words like “dismal” and “pathetic” strong enough?
No.
Try this one.
DISGRACE.
The Boards of the Also Rans have failed everyone connected with Scottish football, including the players and managers.
This cannot continue.
Time for Change.
