I have every respect for the players doing their best to compete, at Hearts and other Also Ran clubs.
However, brave though the players are, that bravery has for 36 years failed to deliver new Premiership Champions.
Celtic or Rangers; that’s all we have seen at the top of the league for nearly four decades.
This duopoly, unprecedented in world football, has strangled competition in the top league.
Players have been let down; managers have been let down; supporters have been let down.
The Boards of the Also Rans have let everyone down. These people have known for years exactly what is going on in terms of the illegal duopoly, yet have done zero to put a stop to it.
Dynamic businessmen and women, one and all, but when on the Boards of football club, they seem to become little lambs, unable to raise the energy to fight for the fundamental changes needed to make the Scottish Premiership competitive.
That failure must be corrected.
