Let’s face it. Aberdeen have been quite hopeless for a rather long time.
It’s true they were the last club outside the Old Firm to win the Premiership – but that was 36 years ago.
Since the dawn of the millennium, the lights have basically been out at Pittodrie.
One league cup is all the Dons have to show for 21 seasons work.
Of course, every year Aberdeen are built up as the main “challengers” to Celtic and Rangers; and every year but one since 2000, they have finished well behind the winners.
Aberdeen are now owned by a new millionaire – but the script remains the same.
Pretending to the media that they are challengers, whilst privately accepting that a challenge is well beyond them.
Aberdeen are just another Also Ran, with a slightly braver face.
This won’t alter until the financial structure and competition rules of the Premiership are changed.
Now, in 2021, is the RIGHT time to restore genuine competition to the Premiership.
Time for Change.
