Hibs were left in two cup competitions after the Old Firm were knocked out – but still couldn’t win either of them.
However, that failure is not the REAL disappointment for Hibs.
What should really annoy the supporters is that their club hasn’t won the top league for seven decades – and bringing back the league title to Easter Road is not even a target of the current Board of Directors.
Hibs and the nine other clubs in the Scottish Premiership not called “Celtic” or “Rangers” are evidently content to be permanent Also Rans.
None of them have won the league since 1985, 36 long years ago.
Meantime, their long-suffering supporters have spent a £ Billion plus buying match tickets to watch habitual losers.
There are many millionaires amongst the Also Ran roster of owners – but none of them seem able to translate their business success into football triumphs.
Instead, they spend a few years chasing a distant third place in the league, make noises about having big plans, then shrug their shoulders and wander off into the sunset.
PATHETIC.
Scottish Football Matters has proposed radical changes which can help the owners of the Also Rans.
BUT first they must help themselves by finding the strength to tell Celtic and Rangers that enough is more than enough.
36 years of shame MUST end now, in 2021.
Time for Change.
