Hibs don’t have the money to pay players competitive wages – and millionaire Ron Gordon isn’t going to put his hand in his pocket to meet the bill.
Our proposals for the Old Firm to pay a total £40 million a year to stay in the Scottish Premiership would give the current top league Also Rans an extra £60,000 per week each to invest in player wages.
Although this would not stop some players wanting to move to England, the wages on offer would be attractive to “stay at homes” and allow young talented players to be retained until their early 20’s.
Suddenly, a league challenge would look possible again for a number of clubs.
