Ron Gordon is worth £ millions.
Yet history shows his money will make no difference to Hibs league success.
This is the first season for 16 years that Hibs have finished even third.
Even when Rangers were out of the top league for years, Hibs could not manage a third place.
Worst still, Hibs haven’t actually won the top league for 69 years.
Hibs would claim to be the third best supported club in Scotland.
There is NO other league in Europe where the third best supported club have such a record of failure.
During this period of failure, at today’s prices, Hibs supporters have spent £400 million plus on home match tickets alone. Their total expenditure on supporting their club, including travel costs and away match tickets, has probably exceeded £1 Billion.
£1 Billion spent on 69 years of failure.
In a way, Hibs are the worst of the failures, but it is pointless singling them out for derision.
The other nine Also Rans are also dismal failures.
Millionaires like Ron Gordon have come and gone at most of the Also Rans – but the pattern has not changed for 36 years. Celtic and Rangers continue to completely dominate the Scottish Premiership.
Drastic changes are needed – read other articles on this website to confirm what those changes are – and Ron Gordon needs to work with the other Also Rans Chairs to force them through.
Now, in 2021.
Time for Change.
