Celtic and Rangers have cornered the market in cynicism.
They have had almost 40 years of total domination of the Scottish Premiership.
It all started in 1980, with Glasgow’s Greedy Giants using their pervasive influence to get a rule change, allowing them to keep 100% of their home gate receipts.
This increased their seasonal ticket sales revenue by around 70%.
At today’s prices, this change has been worth over £700 million to the two Glasgow clubs.
More than enough to turn the rest of the Premiership clubs into permanent Also Rans/ Whipping Boys.
This latest move re the Colts is aimed at making the Old Firm even more appealing to new young player recruits than they are already.
Every decent youth player in the country would sign for the two clubs, knowing they would be very likely to get competitive game time in the Colts teams.
This move would be a DISASTER for the rest of Scottish football.
So the answer is “No; NEVER”
Time for Change.
