Celtic supporters are really depressed.
After 9 successive Scottish Premiership titles and 4 Trebles in a row, they have had one season where 2nd in the league is their sole consolation.
Only that is no consolation at all – because 2nd to Rangers is nowhere as far as Celtic followers are concerned.
Of course, Rangers – or Sevco as some in green favour – were absent from the Premiership for five seasons.
That was a very dull period for the Parkhead club. A Two Horse Race is no fun at all if the other horse can’t even make it to the gallops.
But Rangers/Sevco are now back – and are galloping too fast for Celtic to keep up. All those seasons of swatting Also Rans left Celtic richer money-wise but complacent.
As for the rest of the Premiership clubs, they go through the motions every season, helping the media pretend that the top league is a competition.
It is NOT.
It is a dreadful, boring and unacceptable duopoly.
This farce must end NOW.
Either Celtic and Rangers agree to a drastic overhaul of the finances and structure of Scottish football – OR THEY LEAVE.
Time for Change.
