Neilson, Glass and Ross – the managers at Hearts, Aberdeen and Hibs respectively – are decent or better at their jobs.
Yet they have no chance of steering their clubs to a Scottish Premiership title.
The three clubs mentioned – generally recognised as the strongest in Scotland outside the Old Firm – have, in aggregate, failed to win the Premiership for 166 years.
They are not “challengers”; they are permanent “also rans”.
None of the managers should be blamed for this.
The blame lies firmly at the door of the unacceptable financial arrangements and league structure that have blighted Scottish football for four decades.
Scottish Football Matters has put forward proposals aimed at restoring competition in the Premiership and refinancing the lower leagues.
Action is needed NOW. IN 2021.
Time for Change.
