English fan power will scupper latest plans for British Super League involving Rangers and Celtic? NO, IT WILL NOT! #scottishfootball #scottishfootballmatters

Though the Scotsman has finally shown some understanding of the unacceptable Celtic/Rangers duopoly which has wrecked competition in Scottish football for four decades, the newspaper is already pouring cold water on any opportunity for change.

There is NO cold water.

There is real heat and a tsunami of desire for change.

Celtic and Rangers cannot be allowed even one more season of destructive domination.

Either they stay and pay £40 million to do so OR they go and the remaining Scottish clubs benefit from £50 million a season from the total UK football broadcasting revenues.

Other changes are needed BUT the new financial arrangements are the starting point.

Cormack, Budge and Gordon – the leaders of Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs – must seize the opportunity to lead Scottish football to a new Golden Age of prosperity and genuine competition!

Time for Change.
