European Super League: opportunity for Celtic and Rangers to move to EPL?

News of the Super League may be good news for the “also rans” in Scottish football.

Obviously, neither Celtic or Rangers would qualify for the European Super League.

However, an English Premier League, shorn of its biggest clubs, may be receptive to two Scottish clubs who can guarantee 60,000 and 50,000 attendances respectively.

Perhaps few in Scotland would be sad to see the Old Firm go. It would leave a Premiership of real competition, with no club strong enough to even contemplate a boring long “in a row” sequence.

Of course, if Celtic and Rangers don’t want to go, they have an alternative.

Cough up £40 million a year between them to ensure at least some of the “also rans” can truly compete for the Premiership title.

Time for Change.
