Celtic and Rangers colt teams “joke” proposal ‘set to be rejected’ by Scottish Premiership clubs

It is absolutely right that this proposal is rejected out of hand.

A miserly £1.5 million self-serving donation from Celtic and Rangers so that they can further strengthen their duopoly.

A bad joke!

The crazy rule change made in 1980, which allowed Celtic and Rangers to keep 100% of their home gate receipts, has been worth, at today’s prices, at least £800 million to the two clubs.

They have used that £800 million to destroy competition in the Premiership.

Their 36 year duopoly can be traced back to the time this ludicrous change was made.

The two Glasgow Clubs must be told right NOW that from next season they must each contribute £20 million pounds a year to a fund to repair the damage caused since 1980.

The £40 million annual fund can be split £35 million to the other clubs in the Premiership and £5 million to the clubs in the lower divisions.

If Rangers and Celtic don’t want to accept this funding change, they should be told to find another league in which to compete. This would be a shock to them, since they haven’t truly needed to compete, except with each other, for nearly 4 decades.

Anyway, I am sure we would all wish them well in their search for a league elsewhere that will accept them.

Perhaps easier finding the Holy Grail?
