Hearts Supporters Want To Demonstrate After The Brora Defeat? What About The Sixty Empty Years?

Some Hearts supporters apparently feel the defeat at the hands of Brora Rangers was the last straw for them.

Exit toys from Pram – and a wee demo is mooted for outside Tynecastle on Saturday.

This really made me laugh.

You see I don’t care about losing the odd cup tie, however humble the opponents.

What I care about is the around 60 years of my life I have been waiting in vain for the club to win the League Title.

Sixty empty years. Six decades of occasionally sitting atop the foothills, once or twice even reaching the Base Camp – but never succeeding in conquering the ultimate Scottish footballing peak.

Let’s not blame the team managers here. Most of them have been given scant resources with which to build their squads. There have regular sackings, simply because that what’s football club Boards do when they want to take supporters minds off their own failures.

In truth, with the exception of Mrs Budge, most of the Hearts Boards in the past 60 years have been, at best, seriously incompetent.

The harsh reality is that most Boards have accepted the utter domination of Scottish football by the Old Firm, particularly since 1985.

Change in needed in Scottish football – but it won’t be achieved through sacking managers. They are simply the fall-guys of Directors who haven’t got the courage to challenge the status quo.

Time for new Boards

Time for Change.
