Old Firms “Colts” Can Destroy Scottish Football.

This Scotsman story highlights proposals for Old Firm Colt Teams to play in the lower leagues – and for lower league clubs to “borrow” up to five players from the Premiership duopoly.

This move would make it even easier for Celtic and Rangers to sign up all the best young players, with the youngsters knowing they will be guaranteed game time in the Colts or on loan.

We have already had a glimpse of the problem this season, with a loan of three Rangers youngsters to Queen of the South helping to turn relegation strugglers into promotion candidates!

This is NOT one of the changes we are calling for that would positively impact the Scottish game.

Quite the reverse. It would simply increase the advantage the two Glasgow clubs have over the rest of the Premiership, effectively turning the also ran into complete non-runners!
